3-6 year olds have older siblings in many cases… and if older siblings have Webkinz, 3-6 year olds want them, too. Ganz didn’t do this without do a lot of surveys and finding that a lot of kids well under the target age of webkinz.com have accounts on there, but find it hard to navigate. Love it, but aren’t very good at it.
Our 3-year-old is limited to 30 minutes of screen time a day, but he spends a good portion of that playing on Webkinz. I’m sure that a more age-appropriate site will be very welcome to him and to us.

I understand what a lot of this groups concerns about webkinz jr. The main one I want to address is the age comment about what 3 year will like this. My 3 year old loves to play on webkinz, but I do most of the work playing games and decorating the room. She is really good at computer games and sites like nickjr.com, so I think webkinz is smart for putting a younger version of webkinz up. can’t wait to buy my little girl her first webkinz jr!

Both of my sons pay webkinz. One is 9 the other is 4. The games on Webkinz is great for my 9 year old. It is easy for him to play all most all of them. But with my 4 year old. it is hard for him to play the games like get eleven solitare. Or bambo break. But with Webkinz Jr. it will be more learning his ABCs and Numbers. And he will be able to play them instad of watching me or his brother playing his games becouse he can not read well. Like when it comes to quizzy’s correr. I will still be there when he is on but this way he can play the games and have fun.

Well, my younger cousin is four and she has a Webkinz on my older cousin’s account. I think that this is a good way for younger kids to learn how to play a game like Webkinz by themselves. I understand that, yes, they are young, but this gives them a safe world to navigate alone. My cousin or stepmom usually have to help her get started.

ATTENTION ALL KIDS:
Some of you are excited about Webkinz Jr. But most of you seem completely against the idea for various reasons. Primarily you don’t think that marketing to young children is worthwhile. It is. Look carefully at the above comments and you’ll notice that the only people complaining are clearly kids or teens. (No, ages aren’t listed, but writing style says a lot.)
Note what the PARENTS are saying: our little tikes are desperate to be part of the Webkinz world! They ALREADY play on Webkinz and similar sites, but it’s TOO HARD for them! My 3 yr old has 1 Webkinz on her sister’s (9) account, but the sister manages it. I will be buying her very first Webkinz Jr for Easter. This will solve a lot of problems and arguments in my household, as I’m sure it will in many others with both older and younger kids.
As for the idea of small children being online - This is the technology age. Remember: You were probably on the computer when you were little, too. As parents, it is OUR responsibility to monitor our childrens’ content and amount of time online.
Without children of your own, I understand how difficult it must be for you to understand the wisdom of the Webkinz Jr line. As one other parent already said, the company wouldn’t have released this line without first doing a LOT of research. As a parent, I have been eagerly awaiting this release.

Well first of all i dont understand y all these people are arguing about webkinz jr. im eleven and yet i just got back on my webkinz account 2 days ago. im reading all these comments ur posting and i can understand y all the parents are telling us that webkinz jr. iz a creative site for children to learn with. but i dont understand y these teens and kids my age are arguing about it. i cant even think of a good argue ment for this situation so im keeping my mouth shut. and by the way if i wuz younger i would be really excited about webkinz jr. becuz i love learning and yeah i would want to find a funner way to learn besides sitting at skool for seven hours. and i would want to blend in with all the people older than me so i could feel more grown up and besides webkinz jr teaches and i love to play on my computer and i would still want my parents to admire the fact that im actually learning stuff from a GAME ON THE COMPUTER!

OMG! what are they thinking????? I love webkinz, but honestly. EEEK! I showed the tour to my younger brother (he’s five) and he does NOT want one. One thing, LAME LAME LAME! I think they should make more games on the actual webkinz site, and give more areas where younger kids can play with ease. So, really…. webkinz is awesome ( you all agree) but still……. do they really need WEBKINZ JR? I am tottaly OK dealing out a decent amount of money for a webkinz…. but a more expensive, Webkinz? honestly.

Another thing, Why would we pay alot of money for a webkinz Jr… when we can buy a webkinz or lil’ kinz for a cheaper price? Parent supervison is easy to give, so why not? come on. With parents helping younger children some help on the actual webkinz site, it would be a lot easier for the youngsters!

i totally get it. all the parents are right that there should be a site for younger kids. and i understand that ppeople think that it will ruin regular webkinz. but you guys have to understand that if you have an 11 year old that loves webkinz and has like 47 webkinz, and you have a 5 year old who sees the older sibling p;aying this on the computer they wabt to be like the older one so i just think they shouls continue making webkinz the way it is but add more kids games and ok maybe there should be another site but everyone read this : THIS IS STUPID WEBKINZ IS ONLY TRYING TO MAKE MONEY!!!! i think i have clearly stated my point…
